Renovation and extension of the town hall and the great hall.
After a competition, we worked out a community centre with a small hotel, multifunctional spaces and a grand hall for the representational village activities. A longitudinal gap is splitting, organising and bringing light in-between the hotel and the grand hall until the darker part of the complex. The contemporary prosthesis which unifies the historical fragments is cladded with a titanium copper and local oak wood, as the image of the huge trunk in front of the ‘Hotel de Ville’ suggested us.
